Human Resource Director


Calumet City Plumbing Company (CCP) is a family-owned commercial, municipal and industrial Plumbing Company who has been in business for over 50 years. CCP is seeking a Human Resource Director to act as the liaison between management and employees, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of all requests. This position is also responsible for assuring all tasks are carried out in a manner that is consistent with laws and regulations.


  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business administration
  • SHRM-SCP or CP certification
  • 5 years Human Resource management experience
  • Working knowledge of federal/state/local employment laws and regulations
  • Relationship builder with employees and customers
  • Ability to quickly learn payroll management software
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work in a confidential environment
  • Excellent communication (oral, written and presentation) skills
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Conduct themselves professionally and be a model of professionalism for other employees
  • Communicate to management effectively with clear objectives and course of plans


  • Serve as liaison between insurance carriers, benefit vendors and employees
  • Provide payroll prep/support in maintaining and processing payroll records
  • Conduct employee recruitment and onboarding
  • Responsible for company handbook
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings
  • Maintain company phone directory and organizational charts
  • Maintain Driver qualification files, registrations, renewals, licenses and trainings
  • Coordinate incentive programs, such as awards, prizes, contests and staff parties
  • Publish HR Communications including quarterly newsletter
  • Work with Safety Director to co-manage 3rd party compliance companies, record keeping and tracking work-related injuries, illnesses and accidents
