SAFETY DIRECTOR

Calumet City Plumbing Company (CCP) is a family-owned commercial, municipal and industrial Plumbing Company who has been in business for over 50 years. Safety is our culture. The Safety Director will identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents and health problems. Additionally, the Safety Director will conduct inspections and audits to assess compliance and recommend safety changes.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of safety experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, construction or related field
  • OSHA 510 certified
  • Extensive experience with all applicable regulations including federal, state and local laws (EPA, DOT, OSHA, etc.)
  • Full understanding of safety and environmental aspects of jobs
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment without direct supervision
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Excellent communication skills and strong presentation skills
  • Proficient in MS Office products

Responsibilities

  • Ensures company remains in compliance with governmental policies and regulations
  • Conducts jobsite inspections and prepares reports
  • Identifies and corrects hazardous conditions and practices
  • Assists with new employee orientation
  • Plans and presents for safety meetings, trainings and Tool Talks
  • Manages accident investigations, reports and ensures corrective actions are in place
  • Works with Project Managers during initial planning to establish jobsite safety procedures
  • Responsible for Health and Safety Manual, policy updates and revisions
  • Works with Human Resource Director to co-manage recordkeeping, trainings, license renewals and 3rd party safety compliance companies
